Introduction
Inspired by the UN Millennium Development goals, HUMAN 2015, is launching the pilot project - BOBO. The project is about developing the first ecological city in a developing country. The overall goal is to develop a 100 percent self contained and environmental friendly city, using renewable and sustainable energy technologies. In addition, the city will have a well developed school- and health systems as well as vaccination programs.
United Nations have eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) pointed out to the world how to halving extreme poverty, called by the target date of 2015. The eight MDGs form a blueprint agreement by all the world’s countries and the entire world’s leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the worlds poorest. Globally our Human 2015 initiative is proud supporters of United Nations MDGs commitment to millions living in extreme poverty and billions living in poverty. These people lives in pain, suffering and agony every day.
These people must not be victim to something someone once said in Sudan: "The words of the agreement flies away, like beautiful birds in the sky”.
HUMAN 2015 and the BOBO project is a complex initiative for peace and solidarity, with a goal/vision to fight poverty and ecocide. HUMAN 2015 will obtain this by:
- Humanitarian concerts locally, nationally and internationally.
- A humanitarian record company with single and CD publications.
- Sponsored by the trade industry and the business community ,
- Possibility for sale of the project as a reality TV concept world wide
Our End Poverty World Tour campaign, will contain artist from all over the world, including all kind of categories from international pop stars, from dancers to comedians. We plan that this world tour will start in Norway by the end of this year and then be travelling around the world, ending in New York City 2015. The End poverty campaign is a contribution towards fighting poverty and hunger in this world and how we in Human2015 can help to fight it. We will stress that all income from this our campaign will go to enhance and strengthen the MDGs efforts worldwide and our BOBO- projects.
The BAND AID concerts and Bob Geldof was able to raise 150 000 000 £ (1.8 milliarder kroner). In other words, there is a huge potential for charity in humanitarian concerts. To achieve our goal we will launch a world tour that goes from city to city, from country to country, locally, nationally and internationally.
First step
HUMAN 2015, was established in Oslo in the office of a Norwegian record company 24th of October 2007. The initiative by HUMAN 2015 represents a worldwide network of strong and engaged people who are willing to work creatively, determinately and patiently to help other people out of poverty and to prevent ecocide. Human 2015 is a non-profit and non-political organisation that cannot allow this rough draft of history to be written without listening to the voice of the billions living in poverty. This is why we are here. This is why we must go to work. We all have a job to do, but this will depend partly on government leaders keeping their word and stand up for what Millennium Summit promises to the world. Lise Lyseggen is our founder and President of HUMAN 2015. Lise is in charge of the day-to-day management of the HUMAN 2015 initiative, and the other members of Management as well as certain heads of other functions that reports to her.
The BOBO project will be planned and built by local skilled hands. The project group will be proclaimed by other authorities, and will be responsible for rising the city. Norwegian specialists will watch this process and assure it's quality. The launching of the BOBO project will take place in spesially chosen cities with a well known international band. Furthermore the concerts will continue world wide starting off in Kongsvinger, Norway the 28th of Mars. All the money raised from the End Poverty World Tour concerts will go directly to the BOBO project. We believe that the vision about the first eco-city in a developing country will get a lot of attention, and world wide. The local authorities also wish to make the city into an attractive tourist-destination with its pleasant warm climate all year round with great diving opportunities. This might over some time contribute to our spesially chosen cities to become a self contained town/city.
Why?
Human 2015 believes that promoting peace, fighting poverty and to promote responsible management and utilization of the global environment goes hand in hand.
Environmental issues create a shortage of resources, and generate an even bigger strain on populations that are already struggling. According to the International Development Minister in Norway, Erik Solheim: “Difficult circumstances created by pollution may result in war” .Although climate change indicates that we have to focus on an environmental friendly development, the world keeps being divided in two; within and outside of the UN.
- It is important to create social equality, reduce infant mortality and improve maternal health by offering free universal primary education, free vaccines and health services, and promote gender equality and empower women. The UN Millennium Development goals number 2, 3, 4 and 5.
- To reduce infant mortality and combat HIV/Aids, malaria and other diseases by distributing medication to poor people and people in need. The UN Millennium Development goal number 6.
- Creating work and pride by employing local labour in the process of building the eco-city. By developing a city attractive to tourists, the eco-city may in time become independently sustainable even after the support from the BOBO project. The UN Millennium Development goals number 1, 7 and 8
How?
For us in the HUMAN 2015 initiative this means working together, through joint programmes, joint reporting and joint missions, pooling resources, or simply just delegating responsibilities to each other. In this way we will become more effective, and we will get more value for the poor for every dollar, every euro and every krone. We also have to focus more on results. As you are undoubtedly aware, fundraising for humanity must be one of our urgent priorities. We all know that financially help and support more than anything else improves our chances of building a better world. The HUMAN 2015's initiative also believes that we can reach United Nations Millennium Development Goals by pooling our different strengths and assets and strong partnerships with government, business and civil society. We can make a difference.
The group responsible for the planning and constructing of the eco-city will be proclaimed by local authorities. The group will be quality assured by a Norwegian support- and resource group. Furthermore, local contractors will build the city under the same conditions as mentioned before. All expenses will be covered by Human 2015 through:
- Humanitarian concerts locally, nationally and internationally.
- A humanitarian record company with single and CD publication.
- Sponsored by the trade industry and the business community
- The Norwegian government (All the UN countries, including Norway, have endorsed/signed an agreement regarding obtaining the UN Millennium Development goals. Human 2015 will therefore apply for financial support from the Norwegian government).
The BOBO project will be developed as an interdisciplinary project, philanthropically and financially anchored by national and international participants. Furthermore, the trade industry and the business community will get an excellent opportunity to put this in an appearance, as the whole world will be watching. The money raised will go to building, establishment and further development of the BOBO project. Every euro raised will be given account for on our webpage www.human2015.com
For our projects it is important that there is a common system for the safe and efficient execution to maximise our total output for people living in poverty. It is very important for us in the HUMAN 2015 initiative that we develop and improve in steps within the society’s requirements and the expectations of the people that gives us their contribution. Quality and professionalism in all phases of a project provide the most important basis for the success and development for the HUMAN 2015 initiative.
The purpose is to show how we practically can achieve the UN Millennium Development goal. In addition, we also hope to reach out to young people all over the world. The general public will be able to enjoy great music together with others as well as contributing to putting words into action through the HUMAN 2015 initiative.
The philosophy behind HUMAN 2015 is that our initiative and Norwegian goodwill spirit will play an important role, if people work together, it can be done. We hope the poor people in the world can count on our support as actors in the field - in the delivery of assistance and togetherness. You and I have to play an important role, to make sure United Nations will succeed in there MDGs promises. The new millennium will be history, too.. History never ends – it rolls on, and we are a part of it.
Quality system
The quality system is based on a straightforward main process for each project: Government contact - Proposal and contract - Start-up - Execution - Close-out.
The system allow each project to be unique, even if a large proportion of the work consists of well-known activities. Projects vary with regard to organisation, culture, and routines and legal requirements vary from country to country. The basis for success is established in the proposal and start-up phases, but success can only be achieved through good management throughout the whole project. By pooling our different strengths and assets and strong partnerships with government, business and civil society, we can make a successful humanitarian fundraising.
HUMAN 2015 culture is well anchored in the principles related to honesty and respect for other people. HUMAN 2015 initiative is dependent upon trust and a good reputation in the public in order to be engaged in successful of our goals.
The Code of Ethics presents the framework for what HUMAN 2015 considers responsible behaviour, however it is not intended to be exhaustive. As a member of staff at HUMAN 2015 you should always attempt to exercise sound judgement and caution in your work. Breaching the Code of Ethics is a threat to both the competitive strength and the reputation of HUMAN 2015 initiative. In addition to the general responsibility placed upon each employee, each line manager has the responsibility to ensure that his or her staff is familiar with the Code of Ethics and that it is being followed.
